A return trip - retraced last weeks steps and continued to explore new areas, finding a few interesting features including stone staircase, delta, the tank and a cache then navigated out on a different route
Short tour around central Box Mines @JonnyC: Prior prep and planning had failed, therefore a late arrival in Box. After a little drama locating the back door, we were in. Following our instructions we did a fairly good tour of the mine including some impressive chambers, looking forward to a return visit.

A positive paddle. Progress good, especially on the return run. Very cold conditions (-2) led to everything freezing including water bladders. @JonnyC: Despite starting out a little wobbly, probably due to the knocked confidence from early in the week, we did stay in the vessel this time, the second half certainly proved to us that if you take your mind off of stability it tends to sort itself out. We ended up covered in ice, we had frozen boat, paddle, spraydeck and BA, true condition training I ...

14.14 km / 8.79 m Bathhampton, Claverton, Dundas aquaduct, Avon cliff & return @RichM: We ventured out in rather foggy conditions leaving from Bathhampton by the George. I think we both had an air of nervous anticipation following our first experience in light of our first experience in the swimming pool. After rather a shaky start we got into a bit of a rhythm heading up the canalover the Dundas aquaduct towards Avoncliff. After an hours actual paddling we paused for a drink but being unable to acc ...
Evening paddle in the docks practicing technique @JonnyC: Setting out at dusk from Bristol Marina we paddled along the floating harbour, after passing the lit bridge we decided to press on to the Feeder Canal, and onward to Netham Lock. Having decided not to accept the social advances of the lock keeper, we paused briefly at the bridge to search for water and observe the wildlife before paddling back. Some difficulties with my control meant I deprived RM of his paddle for most of the journey. 6.2 m ...
