Waterfalls walk from Porth yr ogof to Sgwd yr Eira and return @RichM: Leaving the bustle of modern life we were off to Wales for the first time together since January 2018, the weather was far warmer as the last trip we had to battle through snow. With MA sporting a new animal, crafted on a trip to Southampton yesterday and rested with a stop over at AL HQ, we popped into visit Ade & Jude for morning tea, interrupted by a fire call we did a supplies stop at Tesco and then onto the motorway, soon to ...
A very dry Swildon trip, dropped down the rift from entrance, Jacobs ladder, short dry way, old grotto, water chamber and return via the wet way @RichM: First caving trip since May 2018 for Rich, after a trial run underground in Swan mine two weeks ago, thanks JC. To warm up I did an hour in the gym with physio’s first, when they asked how I was getting on I stupidly said I was struggling with crawling so they had me going up and down the gym on all fours! Picking up my accomplice / mobility aid M ...

Back to Spider - Spider Hole
A pleasant trip into Spider to fettle some new SRT gear, stretch the legs and experiment with a novel GoPro mount
A trip into box in line with AL tradition for a bit of an explore and some festive refreshments @JonnyC: After a not so pleasant change in the rain we made swift work of traipsing through the woods to the Entrance. After crawling in through the backdoor we headed off in a fairly straight line for the cathedral. After admiring its form we took the familiar path off to the right through the gloopy mud. We explored for a while crossing both familiar and new territory and vowed to get ourselves a surve ...
An exciting trip to the promised land on a wet Wales afternoon. MLep navigated well @JonnyC: Following a hard to resist invite I met the boys at whitewalls for a welcome breakfast and gear sort before driving up the road to derelict pub. Although the morning had started fresh and crisp, by the time we were walking to the cave entrance the true Wales wind and dampness had kicked in and it was a welcome relief to take shelter in the entrance chamber. After a few expletives and raw knuckles the gate ...
Parting with some used bank notes, Mark stepped out from the Wessex with a broad smile and the smartest caver on Mendip sporting a new oversuit, with matching wetsuit socks, complimented by his first knee pads. With a whole new level of comfort he led Laura's first trip to sump one, and return via Barns Loop and the short dry. Laura did really well making good progress on the ladder and coping well with a healthy flow of water on the stream-way. With a sense of achievement we rounded off the ...
The annual Christmas party with a twist, someone stole the Christmas tree but the festivities went on regardless @MLeP: Why troughs are better than cranes... @MLeP: Good work Go Pro! :)
A pleasant intro to the world of speleology Zig zigs, long dry to the twenty and exit via wet way
The first trip into GB for Mark who described it as awesome. Looked at the start of Devils elbow then down the gorge over the bridge round the oxbows and down to the sump exiting via the water fall and up the Gorge - a very pleasant trip
Sump 1 and return via barnes loop in and out using short dry way. Moderate waterflow @RichM: Following an introduction to caving in the uooer series of Swildons, Mark was very keen to do the twenty and go to sump one. after some months all the hurdles were cleared, unfortunately Ben unable to make it so the two of us headed for sump one. Much more water than his previous trip brought the cave alive. Good trip well coped with although Mark did say he was feeling tired after!
