Showing 10 of 33 logs from Sat 14 Nov 2009 to Tue 06 Oct 15 for @Kyle
A pleasant novice trip to the drainpipe @JonnyC: Determined to deliver on my promise of an underground experience I picked up the boys and headed for the delights of Goatchurch. After a quick exploration of Avelines we strolled up west twin to drop into the main entrance. A little history and geology was shared before trying the slide and dropping down Giants steps. We explored the high level passage and headed down the terrace into the Boulder chamber. Kyle and Dean succeeded at the under ...
@RichM: Good ride, with excellent company - 52.5km [32.6 miles], Top speed 31mph ascent & descent 935m @JonnyC: A 5 hour cycle around Mendip as a sponsored event for Kyle raising money for Sports Relief, great fun if a little tough, perfect conditions. Thanks to RM for the route planning (marked you as a participant for your route planning efforts).
Leading Kyle down into Swildons for his first time, little drier than last week @JonnyC: An opportunity to show Kyle what Swildon's is all about and demonstrate the difference from Goatchurch! Water levels were ok, unfortunately nothing like last week when I omitted to drag the camera along. We headed down over the entrance rift, through the zig zags dropping down jacob's ladder into the short dry way, a lifelined twenty, down through the inclined rift to sump one which was nice and foamy again, K ...
@JonnyC: Nice little Sunday afternoon cycle out from Saltford up to Victoria Bridge Road. First outing of the baby seat, the helmet didn't go down well, and whilst Aaron didn't love the seat he got used to it enough to warrant doing it again. Stopped for a pint on the way out in the Dolphin Inn who served a superb pint of Doombar. 8.4mi
@JonnyC: Nice little bouldering session after belaying Kyle for a few routes, good fun but definately out of practice.
Leading Kyle into Goatchurch through drainpipe and into dexian extension @JonnyC: Good trip, Kyle took the lead a few times. Headed down to the water chamber and out along the drainpipe, finally along the dexian extension.
Leading Kyle into the water chamber with handline on tradesmans @JonnyC: Took Kyle down to the Boulder Chamber where he had got to last time, and then proceeded on under the Coffin Lid and down the slide into the Water Chamber, came back out via Bloody Tight, and a handline up the Tradesman entrance.
@JonnyC: Killed an hour in the sublime surroundings of Ullswater, having fun trying to cross a wind in the open water without spinning the Kayak, visited the small island and the opposite shore.
@JonnyC: Dragged the family up and around Catbells for some fantastic views and Aarons first hill. Weather closed in with heavy rain and thunder leading to a wet descent. QHWD
@JonnyC: Hidden Lake (named because I convinced the boys there was nothing there, until the last minute when they spotted the lake). Freezing conditions, spent a lot of time picking up puddles. Up onto Fan Brycheiniog toward Llyn y Fan Fach. QHWD
